OverviewWe are currently hiring for a full-time Equipment Engineer in our Benicia, CA office.The Equipment Engineer supports American Civil Constructors West Coast operations by coordinating maintenance and optimization of heavy construction and trucking equipment to ensure safe, efficient project execution. This role plans maintenance schedules, assists with troubleshooting, assigns work orders, manages equipment logistics, and communicates with vendors and service providers while working closely with field crews, mechanics, superintendents, and project managers. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, solid computer and AutoCAD skills, excellent organization and communication abilities, and can effectively manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesAssist maintenance staff maintain and optimize trucking fleet and construction equipment such as volumetric mixers, pavers, and shot blasters to ensure project efficiency and safety productionPlan maintenance schedules, troubleshoot malfunctions, and often oversee equipment logistics, budgeting, and, in some cases, direct operationCommunicate with vendors and external service providersAssign work ordersCoordinate with site crews, mechanics, superintendents, and project managersQualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or a similar engineering field is preferred but not required.
