Position Description: The Accountant provides a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties with an emphasis on the processing of payroll, client funds and accounts payable. The Accountant position works closely with the Accounting Manager, Programmatic staff, and contract accounting teams. Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for payroll processing on a biweekly schedule, in a third-party payroll system • Works closely with HR on payroll processing • Manages employer contributions to benefit plans; posts the payroll entries to the accounting software • Prepare and post month end journal entries • Reconciles Credit Card expenses and posts to general ledger monthly • Manage client fund receipts via direct and manual deposit. Creates approved checks as requested by case managers for client's financial obligations and other client financial needs • Works toward ongoing improvement of managing client funds, budgeting, and reporting with Case Managers • Processes all direct deposits and other cash receipts including donations • Prepares the bank reconciliation and reconciliation of selected balance sheet accounts to the general ledger • Reconciles client receipts with client billing reports, bank statement and accounting software monthly • Logs all checks and credit card receipts and indicates general ledger and grant allocations • Processes accounts payable invoices, check requests and related documentation • Assists with the internal and external financial reports • Assists with tax and other filings • Maintains and organizes accounting files and records • Copies and scans processed documents as required • Files documents in a systematic manner, and preforms digital filing as required - Attends Staff meetings and trainings as scheduled • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: • 4-year college degree in accounting or related field. • Minimum three years' experience with full cycle accounting and cash/ bank account management experience. • Competency in accounting software. • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and comfortable working in Windows environment • Detail oriented and accurate in work produced. • Well organized and has the ability to multi-task and plan tasks at hand. • Works well in a team environment. • Demonstrates commitment to service orientation (clients, staff and community). • Per our Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC) requirements employment requires compliance with being able to produce a negative TB test prior to the start of employment, as well as being vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless applying for an exemption) per the August 5, 2021 State Public Order for Healthcare Facilities, providers and employees.
