Job Summary Cuready Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Histology Tech to support patient care and clinical operations within healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and maintaining compliance with facility policies and professional standards. Responsibilities Perform grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining of anatomical pathology specimens using both manual and automated techniques. Prepare and mount frozen sections on glass slides promptly and efficiently. Ensure precision in microtomy, particularly with fatty and hard tissues, using microtome and cryostat equipment. Perform immunohistochemistry and special stains, executing both automated and manual procedures. Assist in quality assurance and quality control processes, maintaining accurate records of procedures. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including phlebotomy and radiology departments, to ensure seamless laboratory operations. Qualifications Associate's Degree in Science required. Certification as ASCP-HT or equivalent is mandatory. Minimum 2 years of hospital experience, including grossing. Experience with Epic charting system preferred. Solid knowledge of laboratory procedures, including the use of additive fixatives and microtomy. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
