We are currently seeking candidates who are up for the challenge of operating in a high-growth, purpose-driven organization.The Material Handling Team acts as a hands-on operational hub that ensures safe and compliant bulk chemical and waste management, provides frontline technical and system support, and drives efficiency, coordination, and continuous improvement across multiple departments.The Material Handling Technician I supports material flow, inventory control, and waste management operations across the Petaluma site. This role contributes to safe, compliant, and efficient warehouse and production support activities while supporting Material Handling Team initiatives focused on operational efficiency, system support, and cross-functional coordination.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:Support compliant hazardous/non-hazardous waste operations—schedule vendors, stage and load waste, perform inspections, and maintain manifests/logs to keep EH&S waste streams moving safely and on time Inspect and troubleshoot process-utility connections daily (solvent/waste/inert gas), escalate or perform safe minor repairs, and drive reliability/safety improvements to minimize downtime and prevent system failuresDeliver day-to-day Facilities operational support—maintain lift equipment, coordinate equipment moves/installs, support site projects, and support vendors/logistics aligned to enable safe, timely site operationsWork within a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment, supporting guidelines to uphold GMP and ISO 13485 standards, as requiredSupport the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the storage areas to meet service and OSHA, RCRA, HAZWOPER, and on-site EHS standardsSupport the safe and efficient operation of the vehicular fleet used to transport between the California sites, to meet service and OSHA, RCRA, HAZWOPER, DOT, and on-site EHS standardsSupport the safe and efficient operation of the powered lift truck fleet to meet service and OSHA, HAZWOPER, and on-site EHS standardsSupport the safe and efficient operation of Dangerous Goods shipping to meet service and OSHA, DOT, and on-site EHS standardsManage the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse and production floor inventory shelving areas to meet 5S and OSHA standardsSupport implementation of solution designs pertaining to the Material Handling processes and process flows organizing and supplying said goods for use by various internal customersSupport robust cycle counting functionalitiesWork daily with cross-functional teams, including EHS, Facilities, Procurement, Production, Material Handling, and OperationsSupport Quality Control and Assurance in the release of inbound materialsMaintain a professional and courteous relationship with both internal & external customersStocking inventory to their assigned locations using manual and barcode scanning methodsOther duties as assigned by managementSchedule/Core Hours – Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm with potential for added hours as the workload requires.Adherence to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policyHeavy use of ERP, MES, and desktop workQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:1+ years of inventory managementHS degree or equivalentRegular use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, WordUse of a web browser.ERP system familiarity; FMP and/or IFS a plusPreferred Qualifications:Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of workFlexibility to changing operating conditionsAbility to influence performance and team developmentPrioritization and delegation of daily/weekly tasksDaily use of computers in an ERP settingSolid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software, and forecasting techniquesEnthusiastic team player with exceptional communication skills, both verbal and writtenAble to work independently, self-starterAble to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentAble to lift 40lbs.Kanban familiarityHAZWOPER certification a bonusForklift familiarity recommended, certification a bonusWarehouse environment experienceAdditional InformationLGC is a leading, global life science tools company, providing mission-critical components and solutions into high-growth application areas across the human healthcare and applied market segments.
