This role leads by example on the sales floor, supports day-to-day store operations, and develops team capability through coaching and performance accountability.The ASM serves as Leader on Duty (LOD) when assigned and is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, employee performance, customer experience, and operational execution in alignment with Lucchese standards and company policies.Scope of job:The Assistant Store Manager supports total store performance and is responsible for driving results across people, operations, and customer experience. This role has supervisory responsibility for supporting employee performance, operational execution, customer experience, and daily store leadership activities. The ASM provides meaningful partnership in interviewing, hiring, coaching, scheduling, and performance management processes.Key impact areas include:Achieving sales goals and KPI targetsDriving team engagement and selling behaviorsEnsuring operational compliance and inventory accuracyMaintaining visual and brand standardsSupporting talent development and succession planningProtecting company assets and ensuring workplace safetyThe ASM collaborates with cross-functional partners including HR, Loss Prevention, Finance, Marketing, Facilities, and IT. Drives ResultsPartners with the Store Manager to drive achievement of sales and KPI targets (conversion, UPT, AUR) through active floor leadership, coaching, and accountabilityMonitors daily business metrics and adjusts floor leadership accordinglySupports labor planning and productivity managementIdentifies performance gaps and implements corrective actionMaintains awareness of daily, weekly, and monthly business performance metrics and supports action planning to improve resultsSupports execution of labor productivity and payroll management initiatives aligned with business needs5. Communicates EffectivelyClearly communicates expectations, goals, and performance feedbackConducts team meetings and one-on-one coaching sessionsProvides timely updates to the Store ManagerEscalates operational or employee matters appropriatelyDelivers clear, constructive coaching and feedback to support employee performance and developmentOperational & Specialty Leadership (Volume-Based Flexibility)Rather than siloed “low/mid/high volume” sections, this is modernized to allow flexibility across locations:Oversees back-of-house productivity, including receiving, tagging, organization, and inventory accuracyMaintains compliance with loss prevention and accounting procedures; conducts regular auditsEnsures visual merchandising standards align with brand and seasonal directivesSupports event planning and community initiatives to drive customer acquisition and retentionAddresses facility, maintenance, and supply needs within budget guidelinesMaintains advanced knowledge of operational procedures, inventory processes, POS systems, and store compliance standardsSupports execution and troubleshooting of operational systems and workflows to ensure business continuityServes as a knowledgeable operational resource for team members during Leader on Duty coverageRequired Skills/Abilities:Demonstrated leadership capability in a luxury or premium retail environmentProven ability to drive sales and team performanceStrong business acumen and ability to interpret retail KPIsExcellent coaching and performance management skillsStrong conflict resolution and interpersonal skillsProficiency in POS systems (NetSuite preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to learn workforce management systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now)Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-service environmentStrong understanding of retail operations, inventory processes, and operational controlsDemonstrated ability to coach, de-escalate, and address performance or customer concerns professionallyAbility to prioritize and lead operational execution while serving as Leader on DutyStrong organizational and problem-solving capabilityEducation, Experience, and/or Certifications:Minimum of 2–4 years of progressive retail leadership experience requiredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferredLuxury, premium, or specialty retail experience preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periodsAbility to bend, squat, kneel, and climb ladders as neededAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidaysOccasional travel may be required (up to 10%)CompensationSalary Range: $33 – $41 per HourPlus an incentive compensation plan tied to individual sales performance.This range represents the good-faith estimate of base pay for the position at the time of posting.
