Job Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Title VI manager, the Senior Site Head Cook shares SCIHP`s mission by leading the senior site team in developing nutritional meals using fresh ingredients for recipes appropriate for seniors with special diets restrictions that also meet USDA recommended daily requirements.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Prior experience in the food service industry required, with 1 to 3 years` experience with meal preparation and nutrition.
• Current Food Handlers Certificate.
• Knowledge and understanding of public health, safety and proper food handling and sanitation standards and procedures.
• Leads the Senior Site team in the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving appropriate portions to senior site participants.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Greet all seniors, co-workers, and vendors in a warm friendly manner.
• Understanding of modifications needed for low-sodium, low-carbohydrate, and low-fat meal recommendations.
• Must maintain a valid, unrestricted California Driver`s license.
• Possess current CPR certification.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation.
• MUST have proof of completed COVID vaccines plus booster and annual flu vaccine.
