Position: Patient Transporter
                Full Time with Benefits

Worksite: Santa Rosa

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Department: Administration

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Transportation Supervisor

Salary Range: $12.13 to $16.25 per hour

Job Purpose: The Patient Transporter, under general supervision, will provide safe and timely patient transport services for SCIHP’s clients to and from the clinic and/or other medical facilities for appointment and activities at Sonoma County Indian Health Project, Inc. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and established policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Must maintain a valid, unrestricted California Driver’s license, ability to be insurable under SCIHP’s automobile insurance, and be able to meet insurance requirements regarding driver record in order to utilize GSA vehicles.
  • Must have at least two (2) years driving experience
  • Knowledge of service area geography, roadways, and traffic patterns.
  • Ability to review scheduled transportation appointments in the electronic health records systems as well as demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel)
  • Organize and maintain office files and records, including those of a confidential nature.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with internal and external communications.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of medical, professional, administrative and support personnel contacted in the course of work.
  • Employee should be able to install a car seat and have knowledge of how to guide a parent in securing a child into a car seat or booster seat.
  • Must be able to support the weight of others who require assistance in standing, bending, stepping, walking, and/or sitting.
  • Must possess current CPR certification or attend a SCIHP CPR training to become certified.

  • Must be sensitive to the needs of Native Americans and knowledgeable of their culture, traditions (beliefs and practices), history, and community.
