The Lead Clinician supports the Director of the Priya STEP team to provide clinical training, oversee documentation and to support the clinical integrity of the program. STEP stands for Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress. This program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca, providing Partial Hospitalization services to youth ages 12-17. Youth in the STEP program receive services provided by a Psychiatrist, Registered Nurse, Master’s level Clinicians, and a Bachelors level Counselor. The goal of the STEP program is to provide intensive, short-term and stabilization services to enable our clients to step down to lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment.
The main treatment modality is group therapy. Groups include a skills group, recreational group, circle group, and future focus. All groups are designed to teach youth the skills necessary to help them learn about their mental health, provide psychoeducation, and help them learn skills to feel better and be safe.
Seneca supports clinicians towards licensure and beyond. We provide individual and group supervision, regular clinical case conferences, and licensure and renewal courses led by field experts. Looking to expand your clinical skills even more? Seneca’s Professional Development Scholarship awardees receive tuition reimbursement of up to $2500 each year for certifications in areas such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or Spanish for mental health practitioners. Training and promotional opportunities in the agency are abundant, and Seneca is committed to helping you advance in your career!
